Launchpad takes account security seriously. Here’s what we do to protect you and why we require identity verification for certain accounts.
Why ID Verification?
Partner accounts (people who promote products on the platform) must complete identity verification before they can use the platform. This is done through Veriff, a trusted identity verification service used by financial institutions and major companies worldwide.
We require this because:
- It keeps the platform safe. Verifying identities helps prevent fraud, fake accounts, and bad actors from joining the platform.
- It protects you. Knowing that every partner is a verified, real person means the platform stays trustworthy for everyone.
- It’s required for compliance. Launchpad must meet strict regulatory requirements, and identity verification is part of that.
What the Verification Process Looks Like
When you sign up for a partner account, you’ll be asked to verify your identity through Veriff. The process is straightforward:
- You’ll be prompted to take a photo of a valid government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, or national ID card).
- You’ll take a quick selfie so Veriff can match your face to the photo on your ID.
- Veriff reviews the submission (this usually takes just a few minutes).
- Once verified, your account is activated and you can start using the platform.
Your ID documents are processed by Veriff, not stored by Launchpad. We receive a verification result (approved or not approved), but we don’t keep copies of your ID photos.
Do Customers Need to Verify Their Identity?
No. If you’re just buying products on Launchpad, you do not need to go through ID verification. This requirement is only for partner accounts.
Keeping Your Account Secure
Here are a few simple things you can do to keep your account safe:
- Use a strong, unique password. Don’t use the same password you use for other websites. A good password is at least 12 characters and includes a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Don’t share your login details. Your account is personal. Don’t give your email and password to others.
- Watch for phishing emails. Launchpad will never ask you for your password by email. If you receive an email asking for your password or asking you to click a suspicious link, don’t click it. Forward it to our support team instead.
- Log out on shared computers. If you’re using a computer that other people also use, make sure to log out when you’re done.
I’m Having Trouble With Verification
If your verification was rejected or you’re stuck in the process:
- Make sure your ID is not expired.
- Take the photo in good lighting with no glare on the card.
- Make sure the entire ID is visible in the frame (no edges cut off).
- Remove glasses, hats, or anything covering your face for the selfie.
- If it still doesn’t work after trying again, submit a support ticket and we’ll help you get it sorted out.
